Romantic places to eat on the Amalfi Coast
Da Teresa Amalfi
An escape into paradise!
What can I say? Da Teresa is one of a kind. A treasure trove chiselled in rock, only accessible by boat. Da Teresa is a secluded place tucked away from the centre of Amalfi. This place gives you a sanctuary, a place to rest and escape.
You can make a lovely day out of your trip here. Why not have a lovely lunch out on the terrace and after bathe in the sun on a lettino under an umbrella on Santa Croce beach?
Make sure you reserve a table ( and a beach umbrella if you are interested in going on the beach after) in advance and be picked up directly from the Amalfi pier where a little gozzo (a fishing boat) will take you right to the door step.
The moment you arrive, you are welcomed with open arms and are treated like family. I was dining alone today but I certainly didn't feel alone as I was in good company.
I strongly recommend listening to the recommendations of the day as the waiters will always suggest what's best. After a complimentary antipasto of fried zucchini and bruschetta, I enjoyed hand made Scialatielli pasta tossed with mussels and clams, drizzled with tomato and olive oil. It was divine!
Then the recommendation of the day, pesce di giorno (fish of the day Sea bass) was absolute heaven and definitely caressed the palate. Giorgio, a local Atranese, even prepared and filleted the fish carefully leaving all the bones aside.
After lunch, I enjoyed bathing in the sun and plunged into the pristine waters of the cove where I also found lover's arch. The natural arch is easy to swim to but after a big feed and a full belly, maybe floaties or a pool noodle might assist you in your quest to venture to the arch!
Now time to relax!
